A teacher, traveller & storyteller
Based in Chandigarh, India, Jyoti travels often to be with her children and finds immense joy in the company of young people. A passionate reader and enthusiastic explorer, she has been shaped by a lifetime of movement.
Her love for wandering was inspired by family — a father who travelled the world and a father-in-law who handed her her first passport with a simple “Go.” Part of the Olive Green fraternity, twenty postings in thirty-five years gave her a lens on life few others have.
A teacher by vocation, she has written for school magazines, Combat News, the Botswana Defence Force journal, Asian Extracts, and her travel blog Musings of Ame Libre. After years of gathering stories from mostly solo journeys across the globe, she turned them into her debut memoir, Dusty Boots.
Every journey tells a story. In fact my boots tell better stories than I do.
